WATERING RESTRICTIONS
Wondering When You Are Allowed To Water?
Municipalities have different bylaws and restrictions, indicating the days and times you are allowed to water. If you own a well or pull water from the lake, these restrictions do not apply to you.
When we open your irrigation system, we program your timer so that it complies with your municipality’s regulations. If you are putting down new grass, plants, or flowers, it is always possible to contact your municipality to obtain a permit that will allow you to water every day for a certain period.
The following information may not be entirely accurate or may change over time. Irrigation VIP is not responsible for any ticket that may result from using this information. Always refer to your municipality’s website or give them a call to obtain the most recent info. However, to the best of our knowledge, this is the most up-to-date information as of the beginning of this year.

Municipal Watering Restrictions
Montreal West Island
- Baie-D’Urfe – Manual or automatic watering of lawns is prohibited from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday of the week. Exceptions will be made for newly sodded lawns.
- Beaconsfield – For automatic watering systems, watering is permitted between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
- Dollard-Des-Ormeaux – From May 15 to September 1st, of each year, the watering of lawns and other vegetation using a garden hose, porous hose or a removable sprinkler, is authorized between 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and the watering with an automatic sprinkler system, is authorized between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., on the following days:
- Residents whose door number is EVEN may water on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Residents whose door number is ODD may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Note: No watering is allowed on Mondays.
- Dorval – Automatic sprinklers between 2am and 5pm
- Even numbered addresses may water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Île Bizard – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
- Kirkland – Watering with an automatic sprinkler system allowed between 6pm and 10am.
- Pierrefonds-Roxboro – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
- Pointe-Claire – No specific watering restrictions. Residents pay for water use.
- Roxboro – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
- Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue – For automatic sprinkler systems it is permitted to water only from 3am to 6am on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Sainte-Geneviève – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
- Senneville – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
- Thorndale – On authorized days, you can water between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. with an automatic system or between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. with a movable sprinkler.
- Automatic or manual watering is only allowed on odd or even days according to your address.
Vaudreuil-Soulanges
- Coteau-du-Lac – For automatic sprinklers, watering is allowed only Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3am and 6am.
- Hudson – For automatic sprinkler systems, watering is only allowed between 2am and 4 am once a week depending on your address.
- On Monday for addresses ending with a 0 or a 1.
- On Tuesdays for addresses ending with a 2 or a 3.
- On Wednesday for addresses ending with a 4 or a 5.
- On Thursdays for addresses ending with a 6 or a 7.
- On Fridays for addresses ending with a 8 or a 9.
- L’Île-Perrot – For automatic irrigation systems, watering is permitted between 3am and 6am on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot – Watering is allowed between 8pm and 10pm on odd and even days according to your address.
- Pincourt – Watering is allowed between 8pm and 10pm on odd and even days according to your address.
- Rigaud – Watering with automatic sprinkler system is permitted between May 1st to October 1st. Between 8pm and 11pm.
- For even addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- For odd addresses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Saint-Lazare – Watering with an automatic irrigation system is allowed only between May 1st to August 31st. Between 2am to 4am.
- For even addresses on Mondays and Thursdays.
- For odd addresses on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- Vaudreuil-Dorion – For automatic sprinkler systems watering is permitted from 2am to 4am.
- For even addresses on Mondays and Thursdays.
- For odd addresses on Tuesdays and Fridays.
- Les Cèdres – For watering with an irrigation system, It is allowed only between May 15th to October 1st. Between 8pm and 10pm.
- For even addresses on even days.
- For odd addresses on odd days.
- Les Coteaux – Watering with an automatic sprinkler system is permitted between 3am and 6am on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Saint-Clet – Watering with a sprinkler system is allowed between May 1st and October 1st. Between 8pm and 11pm.
- For even addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
- for odd addresses on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
- Saint-Polycarpe – Watering with an irrigation system is not permitted using the municipal water supply.
- Saint-Zotique – For watering with a sprinkler system it is only allowed between April 1st to October 1st only when the restriction level is green. Between 10pm and midnight.
- For even addresses on even days.
- For odd addresses on odd days.
- Terrasse-Vaudreuil – Watering with an irrigation system is allowed between March 1st to November 1st. Between 7pm to 9pm.
- For even addresses on even days.
- For odd addresses on odd days.
- Pointe-des-Cascades – Watering with an automatic sprinkler system is permitted between 3am to 6am on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac – Watering with an irrigation system is allowed between 2am and 4am.
- For even addresses on Mondays and Thursdays.
- For odd addresses on Tuesdays and Fridays.
